Can I delete the file I uploaded? I see the delete button when I finish upload, but I cant copy that, so that I can delete it later.

Also "your file" text field contains something like "http://stashbox.org/link]http://stashbox.org/link" in the finish upload form. Is it a bug?

currently the deletion of files after upload is kinda buggy, as you have experienced. do you think a system like craigslist would work better, where we optionally email you a unique link for the management of your file? that way you can just go to your inbox and find the email, delete/edit/etc later.

and yes that's a bug in the site that i will fix.

thanks!

Yeah, optional email with a delete link would be cool, thanks.

Hi Dan,

I would like to delete 2 files that I have uploaded to stashbox using shup. How do I go about doing that? Thank you.

Regards,
William

I'm speaking for stashbox here (havent used shup yet), but...
How about providing a delete link directly after uploading? (Just like you get your download link.) Also maybe a way to define after how many days/weeks/month/downloads the file gets deleted? That would rule :).

Anyway keep up the great work.

LOSER: You are supposed to get a delete link right after you upload a file. It's part of the file management page, which you can now access at any time by using a KnowCode™ that is provided right after your file is uploaded. I have found this file management page to be a little buggy (it doesn't show up when I upload certain types of files), but I'm guessing it'll get fixed eventually.

WilliamChan: Try using this link to report the files that you want deleted. http://stashbox.org/report_file.php

Yeah I know that, but the link does only work from that page AFAICT, or is it supposed to work like, e.g. when you want to delete a file say a week later, because I tried that and it didn't work. Well I don't know the file links anymore so I can't report them (and also I won't). But I'm just thinking about all the wasted disk space, when e.g. you only want to quickly send a file to a friend and then it is on the server forever, it would be handy to have it deleted like a week later (optional of course, dunno how much server load this will cause though :)). But like said, a working delete link will also work fine.

Hmm I was under the impression that you ought to be able to delete files you uploaded at any time by using the manage file page. Haven't tried it myself though. But, yeah, I agree that it would be nice to be able to delete files that you don't need up anymore.

Also, dan, when are you going to implement the optional email with file management link? Wouldn't it make sense to optionally email just the uploaded file url and the knowcode at least?

for now you just have to save the knowcode. eventually i will make it so you can email that info to yourself.

Ahh cool, haven't seen that ... even though I uploaded some stuff lately, haha.

But anyway stashbox is NICE ... just wanted to say that :).
