Anybody have it running on OS X?
Could anybody give me an example of how to start it from the command line?
after running:
./jesusonic
I get:
JesuSonic v0.96 - Copyright (C) 2004 Cockos Incorporated
Using output mode: 'coreaudio'
Opening CoreAudio for readwrite
Device 10: 'Built-in Audio'
CoreAudio Use -in <driverindex>[,<outdriverindex>] on the command line to specify a driver
You can also append :inbuf,inch1,inch2:outbuf,outch1,outch2
Where do I find driver indexes?

The line that says "Device 10:" lists your devices.
So use -in 10

Thanks for that.
Wow. Way cool.

I dare say, this program alone would make it worth getting one of those headless iMacs that are supposed to be comiing out soon.
Out of curiosity, how's performance on a G4 vs. a G5 on an app like this?
I know programs such as Reason work insanely well on even a 933MHz G4, would the rumored $500 iMacs be decently powerful enough to handle the realtime workload?
I know on my 3GHz WinXP box, I get some serious latency when I throw in some of the more demanding effects, such as amp models and whatnot if I have a few programs running in the background... This might justify me eventually getting a Mac, now that I have this, and not just Reason.

Uhh, well Jesusonic on a 2ghz x86 box is quite enjoyable as well :)

What OS?
I noticed you were running Linux on the CrusFX demo, I'm wondering if that boosts available power overall.
Heck, if it works nicely on a 2GHz x86 machine, it should scream on a decent G4. I still think I might do that, just to have a decently priced machine dedicated for music creation.

Either linux or windows 2k/xp.
But don't believe how great the G4 is.. At least on my old 667mhz G4 powerbook, it leaves much to be desired as far as power. i.e. it's not quite as fast as a 1ghz Athlon. So if you're going to go the mac route, probably want a 1.5ghz G4 or more...

Alrighty then.. I've just had great experience with real-time audio processing on a 933Mhz G4, figured a 1.25 should be plenty.. I'll play with it first, though.
That, and I'm looking for a justification for getting a mac.. :P

I'm running it on a Duron 850, and so far I've not pushed it hard enough to hit any problems...

Nice idea, those macs look pretty cool - but they don't have an audio input!

aaah... that's where the MOTU 828 or similar I/O device come into play.. you think I'd use it with standard onboard audio?
Hell no. :-p
