View Full Version : Stashbox: Beta test!
I've been working on some big changes to Stashbox lately, and thought this would be a good place to drum up a few testers before I launch the site! The aforementioned changes are things like user accounts, tagging, improved searching and search result formatting, etc etc.
If you want to try it, go to http://haxbox.stashbox.org/ . From there just use it like you would use Stashbox (both the live and beta sites are using the same backend though, so files uploaded to one appear on the other and vice versa). Register an account, login and rate some files, leave comments--do everything you can!
Let me know if you have any comments/suggestions/complaints!
Thanks =)

Ok did some testing, you cant vote your own files (which is good i guess) :)
I wish there was some virus/trojan check on some extensions so when you want to try, some program for example, you are lees frightened to download it.
Everything looks nice so far ... you are doing great.
Edit: Any chance to add option to Shup to upload files directly to your account, so i dont need to go thru adding each file individually to my account thru web interface.
Its much cooler and less time consuming with shup to upload files. ;)
we will definitely be adding account support to shup! :)
thanks for testin'

Clicking on tags in the right seems to result in a search for tag:tag_name with the current search settings. So, if I have files with a certain tag set to private, and my search is set to All Public Files, I get a "No uploads found" message. Makes more sense to default the tag search to Your files, I think. Provided, of course, that you can do so without altering the search settings.
On a related note, have you thought about allowing users to tag (public) files uploaded by other users? It would be a nice way to keep track of files that you didn't upload yourself (and files that you've uploaded before the accounts/tagging were introduced).

greetings.
is there a way to have shup upload to our profile?
and a way to store and retrieve out uploaded list there?
if not that would be handy as then I could have access to files I upload form all the different computers I have shup installed on
thanks,
Tallis.
We plan on adding that, talisman.
nithya: i guess people could tag other peoples files. don't see why not, except the files will just disappear if the owner sets it to private.

Hi Dan,
I just noticed when I click on a Reaper theme in stash the "Uploaded On" date is always today's date. It seems to display the proper date in the theme listing sceen.
No biggie, just wanted to let you know.
i will look into that, thanks argee! =)

Dan,
I'm looking to add the shup firefox extension running in linux.
I'm a bit of a dummy with this stuff, and i've D/L the extension files from hax. How do i set this up, or alternatively, is this extension already listed in the firefox site somewhere? I couldn't find it.
Alex.
You should just be able to click the .xpi link and Firefox will ask you if you want to install it.

Dan,
Thanks, that worked.
For new linux users that might not be sure how to do this, The xpi needs to be opened with firefox web browser, and not wine emulator, or archive extract. (right click, open with...)
Now i'm off to try this out.
Alex.
