View Full Version : MIDI windows follow playback?

When playing a track with multiple MIDI items, and with the MIDI editor open, it'd be nice if the editor windows could follow the playback. That is, as soon as playback reached the next item, its editor window would automatically come to the top, instead of leaving the user looking at the previous item. (This could at least be made an option---e.g. "MIDI Editor Follows Playback.")

Also, when you glue two MIDI items, the MIDI editor just closes. Instead, how about having it reopen with the newly-glued item, with the view centered on the glued point?

Very good features, very useful ! +1 !

And +1 for:

1) a link button to link/unlink a midi editor so it follows current track/item selection.

2) another toggle, the famous "running man" button: "jump to the current SPL position (even when playback is stopped), then scroll as you play" on/off.

3) alternatively, if there's a next item on the same track and the running man or link is on, the piano roll view *jumps* to the next item (the most logical solution: all in one window).
