To the Shup team, there's quite a few of us reap users who are trying linux, and trying to use shup in Wine.
Would you consider giving a possible look at modifying Shup into a linux version as well, or giving us an idea how to get shup working in Linux/Wine?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex.

I have seen a screenshot of someone using Shup (Ignite specifically) via Wine. I think the OS was Ubuntu or Debian. The person who did it told me that everything worked except the hotkeys to capture windows. However, he said he could still start Shup, use the image editor, connect to Ignite, etc.
Have you tried it?
edit: I'm not sure if he used a version of Shup prior to the introduction of color themes (v0.17) or not, you might try both.

I've cracked it, Dan. Can't use win keys, but can print screen in ubuntustudio, and upload it from the desktop, from 'open image' in Shup editor. Need to set preferences for publicly viewable url.

I'm going to try and install camtasia, and see if that'll shup as an animated gif, as well.

+2 Can we please get a native linux version of Shup? It is one of the very few programs that I don't want to give up at all costs by switching to linux.
thrice_removed if we make a mac port (higher priority), a linux port could be close by...
in the meantime, you can't capture with the hotkeys under WINE, but you can use the image editor (and even ignite!) i believe, so it's like shup jr. =)
i am open to hearing some suggestions for how shup could be made to work better when used under WINE. like some ini settings you could hack to make shup save your uploaded URLs to your clipboard manager. that's a random example but who knows what we could dig up!

Well I just dled the new version of Shup and I was just curious if any progress is being made to this end. Shup is still one of my favorite little apps, and I simply cannot wait for the day we get a Linux native version of it.
