Yes it is the "request block size" under preferences -> audio -> device
just type the common sices like:

32
64
128
256
512
1024
2048
....

My system works perfect even on 32.

cheers

BTW. ::: REAPER is the just the best DAW for me ... working with native DAW's since protools, logic and cubase v1 :::

I've always been curious, how is the buffer size determined when the "Request Buffer Size" option is not checked at all?

Also, on OSX, the menu bar that displays this buffer, doesn't update to new/changed values. Is this happening on PC also, or is it an OSX only bug?

Yes, I'm wondering this too. Anyone know?
It would be nice if this info were included in the Reaper User Guide.

It's set to 512 when it's not "checked" on my system... why? I have no idea

It changes every time. I think each time you start your DAW or you plug in your audio interface, the amount of buffers and buffer size is set to a certain value (unless you request buffer size), depending on how much other applications you're running. When I start Reaper while doing loads of other stuff, my latency is notably higher.

But I could be wrong (on Mac for only 2 weeks).
