Scrolling ! How to stop it?

Is there a way to turn the scrolling off.
I can't seem to find it in the manual.

I guess you mean the scolling of the arrange window on playback - that's 'Options->'Automatically scroll view during playback'.

Well the obvious answer would be because every DAW manufacturer includes it so it must be useful.

But to give an example.
Lets say you're doing a mash up and you want to edge one clip up so it starts in time with another clip. Well you want to be able to make a loop but zoom in close and nudge the clip up until its in sync. Then you might want to get to the end of the clip and timestretch it manually until it fits. Make sense?

There's a lot of other reasons I'm sure.
