something seriously different or wrong with midi in pre8?

ok, something seems messed up.

first off, im getting the "split midi turns into blank event" bug at times --

and not only that, it seems when i peel a midi event back, it destructively deletes the information ahead of it, and when i go to peel it forward again, it loops from the beginning!!!

I hope this is just user error...

this would totally ruin my current workflow

actually it only happens when I split an item and then drag it forward again....

i ticked this option off and it seems to work as normal.

problem is, i never ticked this option on... ???

is this gonna screw up some other part of my workflow?

jason that is the result of unexpected behaviour documented earlier in the forum, I believe. I remember adding a plus and a one in the thread that asked for the ability to split a midi item without trimming... it seems that the trim was the default behaviour. So I am very happy to see that option, cause while I remember the thread asking for it, I don't remember it being addressed by the devs.

of course I could be wrong.
