Reaper + Fantom X

Anybody here using Reaper to control the Roland Fantom X? Note input via midi is fine. I can't get the transport controls to sync between the two. I have tried with Reaper as MTC Master and Fantom as MTC or MMC slave: no luck. I also tried with the Fantom as Master and Reaper as Salve (this worked in Sonar). No luck! I'm beginning to think that the two don't like each other.

Any help will be would be greatly appreciated.
