...but I figure there MIGHT be one or two other folks that would like this thing.
It's called "Quick Sound Switch"
http://www.quicksoundswitch.toflo.de/
Here's my problem:
Just like many of you I have lots of stuff on my audio computer besides Reaper, Sonar, Soundforge and the other stuff I use for work. Things like: Firefox, Yahoo Music Engine, Zune (for my mp3 player) and so on.
Some software (like Reaper) lets you pick your audio device. But some, including ALL three of the above, do not.
I have an RME Fireface and onboard motherboard sound. I prefer, if I am using Firefox to hear the youtube audio come through my little crap computer speakers so I don't have to fire up my rig if it's off, and half the time the fireface doesn't like low quality net audio anyway. But then for things like Yahoo and Zune I would like to usually hear them on the good speakers.
This presents the constant problem of having to switch between default audio devices in windows and is really annoying.
So that little tool up there lets med create a shortcut for my programs that switches the audio device and then runs the program. Very cool. Now I can pick what speakers I want each program to use.
I might be the only one who likes this... But who knows? ;)
