Can anyone tell me if pound for pound this usb soundcard is any good ?

Note that the inputs are for line-level signal, so you would need a mixer or preamp between a microphone and the Behringer UCA202.

The UCA202 is limited to 16 bit audio, so no 24 bit Reaper recording will be possible. This will be fine for non-critical recording tasks, but 24 bit recordings do sound better, and you will sacrifice a bit in sound quality.

Also the UCA202 is limited to 48 kHz sampling frequency. My personal opinion that there is little/no improvement in a higher sampling rate, so that should be fine.

There doesn't appear to be an ASIO driver supplied by Behringer. To get the most out of Reaper, ASIO is really needed. Probably you could use ASIO4ALL drivers.

Not thought about the asio driver problem , this is the beringer page for the "card" , I think thats the asio logo bottom right, need to find out more

You are right about the availability of the ASIO driver. Behringer DOES have an ASIO driver to download on their website. Also lots of other freebie stuff. I'll probably revisit the site to download some of the stuff that they have made available (i.e. software that is not Behringer specific).
