Non-working minimize buttons
Since 3.01 the MIDI Editor window just has a grayed out minimize button.
It was working in version 3.0. MIDI Editor windows could be minimized to the left bottom corner of the main window.

Can't confirm under Win7 x64, those buttons (min/max) don't exist at all here.

Confirmed (sorry, missed the Pref part).
Btw, did you try to track down the version number where it was working?

I always thought this was done on purpose as those windows don't show up in the Windows task bar at all (for me, anyway). If you minimize it, how are you supposed to restore it?

Ok, tracked it down:
Version 3.0 = fine
Version 3.01 = broken
But obviously it's just the MIDI Editor window.
The other windows seem to have the minimize button disabled in older versions too.
