"Close audio device when stopped and active" NOT working with MIDI (v4.13)

MISLEADING TITLE DUE TO A WRONG INITIAL DIAGNOSIS. THE BUG IS CAUSED NOT BY MIDI BUT BY RECORD ARMING. PLEASE READ ON.

The "Close audio device when stopped and active" doesn't render the device closed if a track is armed for recording. It's not the MIDI items or FX -- as I initially thought -- that prevent the device from getting closed, but the Record Arming of tracks.

To reproduce the bug:

1. Enable the "Close audio device when stopped and active (lees responsive)" option from the Audio Settings in Preferences.

2. Create a new project.

3. Insert a new track.

4. Arm the track for recording.

5. Play/stop.

So long as the track is armed, the device never gets closed after stopping playback. The moment you disarm the track, the device closes after stopping.

This is quite frustrating, since I'd like to close the audio device immediately after I stop recording.

MISDIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. THE REASON "Close audio device when stopped and active" DOESN'T WORK AS EXPECTED IS THE "RECORD ARM" OPTION.

It's not the MIDI items or FX that prevent the device from getting closed, but the Record Arming of tracks. If any of the tracks in a project is armed for recording, the device doesn't get closed when playback is stopped.

To reproduce the bug:

1. Enable the "Close audio device when stopped and active (lees responsive" from the Audio Settings in Preferences.

2. Create a new project.

3. Insert a new track.

4. Arm the track for recording.

5. Play/stop.

Sorry for the trouble! Please post bugs/help requests in the appropriate forums first, not here in the issue tracker (a database for confirmed REAPER bugs). If you still have this issue, can you repost this in the forums for further investigation, please? Thanks!

That's intended behavior. Imagine you're recording or processing something "live" through input FX and a window pops up and steals the focus or you want to change to the interface mixer/control software window etc. - "record armed" means the application is not inactive (since it's processing the input). :) Everything else would be a feature request or a question of setting up a custom action to let an "unarm all tracks" action follow "transport: record".
