Detect desired vs. actual sample rate mismatch
With some soundcards it's possible to change the sample rate without Reaper's knowledge. If a recording is made in this state, the resulting WAV file is stamped with the wrong sample rate. I suggest:
- Reaper checks the incoming samples/s vs expected samples/s.
- If there's a mismatch of > 2% or so, Stop the transport and post an error.
- (Note there can be large mismatches in certain situations, like having a WC slaved from a tape machine in FFWD. There should probably be a way to disable this check. I recommend an option on the error box for "Ignore this error for the remainder of this session" or similar.)
(How does this happen? In my case, I'll be in a Reaper project happily working at 48k. I'll switch to something else (browser) which plays a sound at 44.1k, at which point my MOTU driver switches to 44.1. Back in Reaper, I'll hit record, and things are not quite right!)
