ReaXcomp sidechaining, phaselinear filtering
Beeing able to sidechain the Xcomp for more precise ducking

I do a lot of videowork, and have to compress music via sidechaining from the voice'over. In medialand every dB you can squeeze out of the TVset is gold. The Reacomp delivers well, but when doing orchestral work the high frequencies -cymbals, belltree- suffer from the overall side-chained compression. It would be great if the ReaXcomp would have a detectorinput, just like the Reacomp.

And while you're at it, phase-linear filtering would be a real bonus in this process. It would make the ReaXcomp a surgical tool, not only for post. Vocalists could duck drums, but leave cymbalsizzle unharmed. Piano ducks the midfreqencies of a guitar, stuff like that.

Can't you do that already? Reaper's parameter modulation gives you "unlimited sidechaining", you can control any plugin knob with audio from any channel.

You could make a setup were an audiofeed regulates the inverse gain of an (phaselinear)EQ, but you would also need a threshold, ratio'amount, attack and releasecontrol. For that you need a compressorcirquit. Or am I missing something here?

You could use ReaXcomp's threshold of the wanted band as target for the parameter automation.

Sorry, I meant to say *...as target for the parameter modulation*

You can of course do that for multiple bands if you need.

The modulationfeed has to be split in bands first...

Btw, aren't we out of line here? 'no discussion'?
