I've got an emu xboard, there are no transport buttons or programable buttons. Also, changing programs via the keyboard is a pain. And the action is pretty bad. I'd look elsewhere.

I don't use a subwoofer for mixing, though I test out mixes on my home system which does have one. And I don't use it all the time, only on bass and kick tracks where the amount of low frequency...

geez, am I the only one that high passes kick and bass? usually somewhere around 40Hz. My logic is that it helps focus the sound by not reproducing what most speakers don't articulate anyway.

You can accomplish some of this with SWS's Reaconsole. And he recently revised it so that you could create presets.

You can't record the audio output of the jv1080...
You can't record the audio output of the jv1080 via midi. You need to record it's audio output through your soundcard's audio input.
I'm not sure why the jv1080 isn't passing midi to your EMU...
