just a mini update -
loving my Nighttrain Amplug! - so much so i fancied a little hardware fx box to just add some variation for practice, and maintain the portable and battery powered theme i've got going.
popped to the 2nd hand shop which coincidentally had an actual vox nighttrain head fro sale which i stared at for a while - then i got an old zoom g1 fx multi-fx for a good price.
amplug is plugged into the output of the zoom and i use its compression/wah/gate/eq/modulation/delay fx etc. as needed prior to getting to the 'amp'plug.
this then goes to a modified practice amp which is basically a full range hi-fi speaker squeezed into the prac amp cabinet.
its so bodgtastic. and sounds good to boot.
not constantly 'ampsim preset-hopping' in front of a computer and having a dynamic responding decent tone on the 'amp', has made me listen much more to my playing, concentrate on the fingers and pickup positions/tone controls to get appropriate sounds. all good!
like a proud 10 yr old heres my little portable/modular setup with the bonus being old expression pedal that was gathering dust plugs in and controls variables in the zoom.
so yet more evidence of the awesomeness of amplugs.
