Wow!
I did'nt think this feature would be implemented so quickly!
I'll check out the pitch/stretch soon.

Working well here - I'm doing some listening tests comparing with the alternative program readily available here and so far it's of at least equal quality.

Render is very slow, however, by comparison with the local competition (though the local competition has to process the item before it can be played stretched).

But when rendering, I notice the wave file is described in the render progress dialog as being 16 bps instead of 16 bits. Smallest bug so far, probably!

Just stretching a 3 min file by .8 (more than one would really use but just testing) has taken ten minutes so far to render and I'm going to cancel it as impractical. Is this a sign of a problem or something to be expected?

Pitch shifting, I don't really grab what it is so I won't comment. Stretch seems to be working allright for me. (Edit : did not stress it as Art Evans did above, just small stretching or shrinking on small samples)

I have noticed a new issue with this build : if I move back and fro an item (a sample of the default project for example) that is being played, it crackles a lot whereas it is pretty seamless doing this with build 0.925 and 0.924.

In the Media Explorer, the "Up" button still does not work here from the "My Documents". It does work fine for "Desktop" and also for empty folders. It would be nice to be able to use aliases in the Shortcut pane if only by being able to edit the config file similarly as can be done for the VST names that appear in the Add New FX window.

Could you maybe add :

Paste
Split items at cursor
Split items at loop selection
Select All

on the small menu that appears when right clicking on an empty zone of the timeline ?

Pitch shifting by cents does not seem to work using the kb shortcuts (shift+7, shift+8) - by ear or by looking at the item properties with F2. By semitones is fine. (This has good potential for shifting individual out-of-tune notes! Just split the item at the note, and play around using the kb shortcuts when working to get the note bang on).

Hmm it is a touch slow here but really not so bad.. still faster than realtime... how many tracks are pitched/stretched at the same time?

Edit: OK actually I got it to be bad, fixing.

This is a new option, enabled by default, so that when you make an edit, you can hear the results quicker. it's in prefs/editing near the bottom

It's fantastic that realtime pitch/stretch has been added - great job Jason!

I think it would be really useful, and arguably more intuitive, if the UI clearly exposed the changes made to pitched and stretched items (I know this is already visible in the item dialog). Ideally in my mind, the corner of an item would contain text showing the pitch change and stretch percentage.

Thanks

Ben

Very nice the menu thanks. Pitch shifting also works correctly it seems.

Other request : Would it be possible to limit the downwards auto-resizing of the FX Chain window to no smaller vertically than the default empty window ?

'added new default option to always show item info/label text for items even when their edges are offscreen'

I was going to ask for this one, perhaps a small detail for others, but I like having that info in view
