Default Starting a serious project - important settings and Reaper reset

Hi - I am new to Reaper but I want to start using it and I am about to launch a serious project where I will use Reaper. I am just wondering if there are some settings I should pay special attention to before starting the project. Asking this so I do not get any surprises down the line after I have recorded several tracks.

Also I have been playing around a bit and I am wondering if there are some way I can reset REAPER to vanilla settings?

Thanks

[On Windows]
Start menu >> all Programs >> Reaper >> Reaper (reset configuration to factory defaults)

Thanks for the advise
In terms of the settings I was thinking more in the line of audio settings etc(see attached image). Are there any settings I should tweak before starting a serious project or should I just reset the app and go for it

Also do anyone of you have a simple explanation of the difference between the different "Timebase for items/envelopes...etc" on the project setting tab?

Thanks K
