Default Travelling with Reaper on netbook. Anyone else?

HI there,

I will be traveling soon and am thinking of buying one of those tiny net books and run Reaper on it. I only want to do basic editing etc when I have free time. Get some grunt work done.

Anyone tried Reaper on a net book? Will it work with windows 7 starter?

thanks,

rwa

I have it on mine. HP Mini 110, Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM + 2GB ReadyBoost, Win7.

It seems to be working just fine here, although I haven't done too much yet. I used it recently to "up" the volume of a mp3 and rendering back to mp3 took about 5 minutes on the max settings.

As it was mentioned, don't get your performance expectations too high. These things aren't really built for speed

I got my wife's netbook (Toshiba NB205-N210 1.66 GHz Atom 1GB RAM XP SP3) running Reaper with Addictive Drums. I had to render the drums in order to continue overdubbing. I did about 5 or so tracks. I didn't really try stress testing it but it seemed to perform pretty well. Make sure you turn off your wireless, firewall/AV.
