Default Midi "take" merging

This is a fairly straightforward question.

I'd like to know if it's possible to combine 2 separate midi takes into 1.

I want this for my midi drums (AD demo). Ideally I'd record the kick and the snare in the 1st take, then the cymbal in the 2nd.
I know I can customize the track anyway I want in midi editor, but I was just wondering if I could do it this way as well.

thanks

If doing this with with takes, I think you may need to separate them first with right click, take, explode all takes in place - not sure because I don't use takes.

The select the items you want to combine, right click on one and select Glue.

For that style of working, try to set the track to 'free item positioning' (in the track header's context menu). It will avoid the takes system altogether. Might be more like what you want.
