Default Back to cursor position on STOP

Is there a way to have the edit cursor to not move to the play position when stopped?

Must be, because it doesn't do that here.

Edit cursor moves to the play cursor when I hit "Pause", maybe you have changed the keybindings at some point?

Thank you... I still didn't know that "stop" is actually CTRL+SPACE and SPACE is "pause" and ALT+SPACE (in the MIDI editor is an automatic rewind without a stop.

I believe the default for stop/play is spacebar and ctrl+ spacebar is pause/play I don't think I have changed that. Perhaps there is an option to just switch them around?

You can always find out what exactly a key does in the action list via the "Find shortcut..." button.

Thanks, I'll bind the keys for SPACE as "play/stop": it's quicker and more intuitive for me.

Default BUG

OK, I change the key binding and it works as expected - i.e.: CTRL+SPACE is now "Pause/Play" and SPACE is "Stop/Play".

Accordingly, when I press SPACE, the edit cursor does not advance to the measure the song stopped. As I wanted.

However, there is a bug: in the undocked MIDI Editor, it still behave as before: when I press SPACE, the edit cursor moves to the measure where it stopped. Hmm. But when the ME is docked, it works fine.

I de-binded the keys and reverted to the original bindings: CTRL+SPACE for "stop/play". I works fine: the edit cursor does not follow to the stopped position in the undocked ME.

I should report this in the bugs forum.

Works here, undocked and docked. Did you check whether spacebar is assigned to Play/Stop in the MIDI Editor section of the action list as well? You also want to look in MIDI Event List Editor.

I looked at a virgin, portable Reaper install and spacebar with no modifier key is by default assigned to Play/Stop, as you would prefer it to be. You must have changed that at some point .

Danke schön - I had to change the key binding for Play/Stop in the MIDI editor too. There was a conflict with the other play/stop of the main window!
