Default want a Chord track!!

Hi all,

I supposed many have already asked for this feature. But in case thay havent...

I would like a chord track where i can put chords (what else?).

Initially this could be a general text track where one can put prompt text or lyrics so one can see what to play as the sequencer rolls along. Could have 2 text tracks: one for chords, and another for lyrics. A bass layer (for instance) can then improvise to the chords while watching the screen.

Or perhaps it could be a true chord track that reaper can use to build vocal or midi harmonies (BB anyone?)

So I guess I am asking for TWO things, not one: a general TEXT type track where I can put anything i like, and a true CHORD track that can be interpreted by *something*.

any takers?

I need it!

Don't care if it is only TXT as long as I can use it visually to play by as the measures move by.

Thanks, that helps me a lot as well. Didn't know that function and so far worked with images as described in the other post. But the image quality sucks and especially when the chords get a little bit more fancy, it's easier to just write them down.

And it's great to jot down the lyrics as well. Excellent tip!

Yep, I use it as a teleprompter when tracking. These days any tune I am going to "seriously" record I take a bunch of empty items on a track called "Arrangement" and I split up and color those accordingly INTRO/VS1/CHORUS and so on then I get them all placed so I have a complete visual reference of the entire song.

I can also add things like chord names or reminders "lay it back a little right here". Then when tracking I might make it really big and zoomed in so that just that big horizontal/color coded/text info teleprompter is scrolling by. It's a lifesaver. When I was tracking with a drummer last year, I hooked up a third computer monitor and ran it across the room sitting about 3 Feet from him. I set it up so that he always saw that track as full screen almost and it was his bouncing ball since he wasn't completely comfortable with the arrangement.
