Default New Track Location

Hello,

I tried finding a pref for inserting new tracks at the top of the list but I can't seem to find anything. I often import track templates and if another track is selected, reaper imports the new tracks below the selected track. This can be quite frustrating sometimes if a new track is inserted in a bunch of tracks in a folder which has been minimized. I'm not sure how reaper chooses where to insert new tracks. Can anyone help?

Usually a new Track is inserted below a selected track. Or at the bottom when no Tracks are selected.
Not sure if there's a preference to change that, but you might have a look at:

-) Using the Media Explorer to drag and drop the Template files from there onto the top track

-) Using Actions like SWS: Insert track above selected tracks or Xenakios/SWS: Insert new track at the top of track list

-) Or making Custom Actions:

Example 1:

1) SWS: Select master track
2) Track: Insert track from template...

---------------------
Example 2:

1) Track: Insert track from template...
2) Script: X-Raym_Move selected tracks up to the top of the visible track list.lua
