Default Record track output to new track - routing

I have audio on track 1 and I want to record the output from this track to track 2.

I then add a send from 1 -> 2 and a receive (2 <- 1) is automatically created.

However I am missing a setting because no audio is recorded on track 2 when I arm and record.

Receives enter a track at a point after inputs. You need to set the track's record mode to "Record: output". In your case probably "Record: output (stereo)".
Right click the record arm button to find the option.

Question? Can't you simply duplicate the track?

I am running a "tapestop" effect on the first track that I want to print to a new track so that I don't have to press the button on each run..
However writing this I realised that a solution could be to automate the tapestop However it is always good to know how to print output from one track..
