Default reaper stopped recognizing mbox interface

My buddy just texted me saying reaper stopped recognizing his mbox just outta the blue.
He gets this when opening reaper:

when he clicks relaunch he gets this:

If he clicks "OK" it takes him to a 404 page.
I know he uses a mac and he had to install the ppc version of reaper.

Any ideas feller?

What version of Mac OS?

What exact model of Mbox?

These details will help.

The Pace drivers are usually installed with plugins, as it's copy protection stuff.

I've seen similar goofy behavior.

Has there been any updates of plugins, etc. recently?

Ok I asked him and he sez:
My Mac version is:
Mac OS X 10.5.8
My Mbox is: Mbox 2
I'm Not sure about drivers?

As far as plugin updates, as far as I know, the only thing changed is the purchase of a reaper license

Does he have Pro Tools installed?

He may need to reinstall Pro Tools which will reinstall the Pace drivers.

Has he checked the Avid site for help?

The Avid site can be a bit confusing.

I wouldn't think that installing or updating Reaper would, should, or could affect the Mbox.

But Pro Tools is finicky at best.

It appears that something jacked with the Mbox drivers. This happens, just because it's Pro Tools. No Joke.

Have your friend reinstall Pro Tools and see what happens.

This shouldn't blow up the world or anything.

Have your friend double check what version is installed currently against what they have to install.

Be sure to download any necessary updates from the Avid site.

If need be, PM me and we can get more tweaky with a phone call or Skype if need be.

FYI: I'm a former Pro Tools trainer and have been using, teaching and teching Pro Tools since '93.

Hope this helps.
