Default Reaper install and plugin problems

hi
I'm new here so please bear with me, here is the description of my setup:
21.5" Imac
OsX 10.9.5 64Bit
Processor 2.7 Gig i5
Memory 8Gig
Graphics GT 640M 512 MB
Audio Focusrite Saffire Pro 40

yesterday I've installed the trial version to discover that none of my plugins would work.
I've noticed here that more people have the same problem, so I'm wondering when is there a fix for this.

Than today I've wanted to go on my second discovery tour to find that Reaper has ben removed from my applications. Is this normal for the trial version?????
I was in first place totally elated to find Reaper (on advice from a friend) but now it just seems a waste of time again. I've been a Sampletude user for many years and now that I switched to a Mac I was forced to use Logic what I started to hate soon after install, the workf;ow om Logic is far slower than on Sam.
I hope you can help to solve my disappointment
cheers Andy

It always helps to read the manual about how to install and setup things in preferences correctly: program, vst directory/directories and audio-card. Then how to load a plugin on a track, arm it and set monitor to listen. Just to be sure.

Hello andywell and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information.

We really need some more specific info if we are to offer helpful advice, otherwise we would only be guessing.

1) Plug-ins works fine in the trial version. What particular problems did you have?

2) I do not know OSX so do not know what "Reaper has been removed from my applications" means; could you please clarify? Is it still on disk? Nothing in Reaper cause it to delete itself. What, if anything, in OSX, removes applications?

Default new start

dear people
first I must appologize for being to eager to try out Reaper for I'm in the middle of composing and recording my new album
I was so curious when a friend pointed me nose to Reaper that I immediately downloaded and started to try out the DAW.
having written to you about a few problems I had, I realised that it was rather stupid of me to wanting to start a new DAW in the middle of recordings.

so now I wondering how can I start the trial period anew after I finished the recordings cos it's probably going to take quite a while to finish and am waisting my trial period.
