Default Zoom H2 buffer problems

Hi

I'm on an evaluation license and think that REAPER would be the perfect tool for me if I didn't have to choose between extreme latency or dropouts that result in lost contact with the soundcard. This is my setup:

Dell XPS M1330 laptop
Zoom H2 soundcard and recording device with the latest Zoom ASIO driver.

It would be ok for me with latency of 10-15 ms.

I love playing music but isn't really into complicated technical stuff so this is my last chance in using Reaper.

Please help me!

Go here...

http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

Grab the DPC Latency checker tool and run it. Bear in mind this has little to do with your buffering (audio latency) issues. What it will tell you is whether or not your Dell suffers from excessively high DPC latency. This can wreak havoc on trying to stream audio or video "real-time".

Post back what you find and maybe we can get you sorted out.

Good luck!

Thank you for your advice.

I ran the program and the latency was ok for streaming audio.

It actually works well in Audacity so it might work in Reaper as well if I only knew how to do it.
