Default Multiple midi items on same track interfering with each other (SOLVED)

Hi! If I have more than one midi item at same place on the time line (starting at the same time), then some midi events are not sent into the track. If I mute one item or the other I see all the midi events from the unmuted item being registered in the "JS: MIDI Logger".

But playing both together some events are not registered in the MIDI logger.

Sometimes midi events are registered from both items but mostly Reaper seems to select one or the other.

EDIT: I also noticed now that when I glue the two midi items together, some of the events are missing from the glued item corresponding to the events that were not previously registered. In this case I have 1 item with notes and another item with CC-events occupying exactly the same track and time extent. Very strange. If I mute the item with the notes then the CC-events are perfectly registered by the midilogger and my Zebra VSTi. Saving the project and restarting Reaper didn't help.

EDIT: I've created an RPP-file that reproduces this issue on my Reaper v5.32 64-bit Win7-installation. If both items are selected and glued together: the notes disappear (only CC-events remain). Playing the two items simultaneously the midi logger only registers CC events and not the notes.

I've not noticed this before. Is this a bug?

Will be greatful for any help :0)

Cheers,
Loopas

What is "Item mix behavior" set to in Project Properties? You'd want that set to "Items always mix", I think.

EvilDragon, maaan you totally saved my bacon! That was exactly it! :-D

Thank you *SO* much! I would never have found that setting myself!

I hope you are having an amazing weekend! You deserve it

PS

So this is NOT a bug. Definitely a case of user error.
