Default Make MIDI in mobile then Import to Reaper?

Hi all,

Is it possible to make MIDI files in mobile then import it to Reaper for further editing? If so what apps are these? it's okay if it is in Android or IOS and even Free/Paid.

I figured it will be very useful as I am not always at my home. thanks!!

Don't see why not.

I guess you are talking mainly about MIDI sequencers so maybe look at this:

Or even a full mobile DAW like this!

No doubt more MIDI savvy people will advise.

It's certainly possible. I've tried a couple of free apps on Android but I haven't found one I really like yet.

Look for export function in the app.

That full mobile DAW looks good but as I've read the features it does not export a MIDI file.

I did this a long time ago across a couple train rides, in Caustic on Android

in case annotations doesn't show - first half from Caustic, second one made of MIDI file exported by Caustic and imported to Reaper. I suppose it's much better now. And was a pretty cool app even back then.

I tried Traktivate (not bad for making beats but the MIDI export format was very strange) and Palmidi Lite (didn't like the UI and I never persuaded it to export any MIDI I could read).

Caustic seems to get good reports but I only had a quick play with it because the free demo version doesn't do exports. OTOH the full version doesn't exactly cost a lot.

I have now tested some apps and it works just fine. Just use apps that can export .mid files then in reaper insert>media files. I used the Drum sequencer and Mid sequencer apps on android
