Turning off my ASIO Zoom G5 crashes Reaper, 100%

Would just like to report that my Zoom G5 ASIO device, if disconnected in any way, will cause a guaranteed crash.

My other devices do not cause such an issue. Clearly this is a fault of the Zoom driver, by my understanding, but is there a way Reaper can be safeguarded against crashing the project and losing data?
