Default New here - is this possible?

Hi All.

I've seen some of the amazing scripts written by Julian Sader and others and how they improve the MIDI editing possibilities in Reaper. I'm a composer of soundtracks/orchestral music etc and use Midi heavily in my productions, so I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on whether the following is possible...?

Example - programming orchestral percussion.

Play the part and record the midi data, but then want to select the first beat in each bar, then be able to incrementally increase/decrease the velocity in increments of 10 for example? (To accent hits on beat one of a bar)

Ideally using a TouchOSC interface.

So, the workflow on the iPad would be:

1. Press a button to select Midi data on beat 1 of each bar (would also be handy to select other beats of the bar via a button press)

2. Press a button to increase velocity by 10. Press again to increase by another 10 (for example). Then be able to press a different button to decrease by 10 if required.

This is the sort of thing you can do with Lemur/Metagrid in Cubase, but would be nice to know if it was possible in reaper as I am starting to really enjoy using this DAW!

Many thanks for your help and time.

Best,

Chris

This can be done with the built-in Event Filter ('F' key) and the Edit: Note velocity +10 action.

That's really helpful, thanks.

Now just need to figure out if I can map that to a couple of TouchOSC Buttons...

Or if it can be made an Action, I can easily map that to a button/Shortcut.

I've mapped the +/- 10 velocity to a button each on the iPad, based on the script "X-Raym_Add 10 to selected notes velocity".

So Now I just need to figure out the select the midi data at measures 1 or 2 or 3 etc to a button/buttons on the iPad. If I could create a macro/Keyboard shortcut of the above that would be good, but a script would be even better I'm thinking...? I've tried to look through some existing scripts to see if I can modify one, but no such luck at the minute.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to do that please?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Many thanks.
