Default Differences between audio interfaces

Audio interfaces are not all created equal, are they? I ask because my Focusrite Saffire just died after about 5 years, and I am using a Line 6 Studio GX for now to get my guitar into the computer. I notice a vast decrease in the sound quality through the Line 6 - it seems like many of the high frequencies are not reproduced as they were by the Focusrite, and the sound is overall less bright and crisp. Could this be? I assume that different interfaces do the analog to digital conversion differently/better, and I just want to make sure I am not imagining this difference.

Well...there are differences, but when you write "vast decrease in the sound quality" i suspect something else might be going on.

What samplerate are you running?
