Default Program Changes keep being sent

I'm using Reaper for some live work with my Novation Bass station.

I'm using SWS Region Playlist thing to give me some flexibility. All that works OK.

Ive inserted some program change messages here and there to change patches for each song. Then i have a bit of fun playing the filters and tweaking while the song plays.

Unfortunately when a region loops around, the program change gets sent again but i dont want that to happen!

The part that is looping doesn't even contain the program change!

Hope someone can help. 😀 Thanks

I was going to suggest using this Preference:
Quote:
Reset MIDI CC/Pitch on playback start and/or playback stop and/or playback loop/skip. Includes CC reset overrides option.
but I cannot get it to work here. (I must be missing something)

I came across this in the forums too. I can't get it to work either 😦.

It seems to be a designed behavior - there's many cases in a mix youd want midi messges to be honoured no matter where you hit play on.

But this ain't one of them!

Thanks for the response anyway. It seems this works for some people but not all. Maybe theres something we are missing as you say.

Peace. PD. 😀
