Default Choosing a laptop - test site with DPC latencies

for all those who want to buy a laptop for audio, I just found this test site which actually has a section about DPC spikes.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/

If you don't know what it is basically: lower = better, spikes above 0.7 - 1ms is VERY bad for audio.

There seems Nvidia Powermizer function is responsible for DPC latency troubles

There are multiple reasons why laptops can have very bad DPC latency issues. Most common is Wifi drivers, but many "laptop-specific" drivers with power saving functions and/or simplified interfaces will cause problems.

Hell, I'm still at 1.010ms on my laptop, no Nvidia, no wifi. (luckily it still works for audio, I just have to increase the DPC safety buffers in my drivers)

read Timur posts on various audio forums
http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=1601661
turn off camera, bluetooth, battery driver, various keyboard helpers
if you are using usb audio device try to change ports
in my case its down to nvidia powermizer, but there are some workarounds about this.
