New intuitive ways of midi recording!
I was wondering if there are any new and more intuitive ways to record midi data than by keyboard, because I regulary get frustrated after recording one short passage for 16 orchestral instruments one after another and always having to correct the exact velocity or note lenght by hand, because I'm no good keyboarder..
We live in a generation of smartphones with cheap motion sensors and wireless technology. So, are there any inventions for more intuitive and ergonomic midi controlls?

was an early adopter of Leap. Pre-ordered and got one of the first batch.
After six months of frustration and zero real progress other than making pretty patterns with my fingertips, I gave up and got a refund.
Apparently it works better on Apple than it did on my WIndoze machine.

What's your main instrument?
If there's none, maybe a pad controller like NI Maschine or something similar is the way to go. If it's guitar for example, there are MIDI guitar solutions. I once also saw a MIDI saxophone.
So which instrument are you most familiar with?
PS: There are also some pretty exotic new MIDI instruments on the market, but I fear, they also need to be learned as any other instrument to be mastered.

My primary instrument is the guitar, so I will watch out for those midi guitars! But do they work? I mean the tones usually are seperated from each other in midi, and a guitar merges them with slides. I can't imagine how this works..
If you know any of these 'new instruments' please tell me, I'm open for new things and a quick learner. My primary interest is more ergonomy and a more efficient way to simulate orchestral instruments, than a keyboard does.

Typically, every string uses a separate MIDI channel, so you would also have separate pitch bend events for each string.

Cheap motion (and other types of) sensors are only half the story. Designing an interface that works well for your specific purposes is the more difficult part, imho.

Mine too, so I did some research about MIDI guitar solutions and I found reports, that this solution would be the best:
http://jamorigin.com/products/midi-guitar/
So far I didn't have the chance to test it.
Google for it and you'll find many Youtube videos about it.

I use the "Fishman Triple-Play" MIDI pickup, and find it really works great.
