Janne, this is a great theme and has become my default one! Thank you for sharing it with us!
I am using your "lighter" version and there is a visual problem on the master track in the mixer (have a look at the attachment).
The peaks are on the same line with the 18 marking, making them unreadable. Could you fix that?
Thanks!

Are you using a custom peak/meter range setting? If I raise the max peak value from 6db to 18 db like you have the default theme also has this overlaping issue, so its not a theme related problem.

How should I have my peak/meter range setting set? I actually changed the default settings because they seemed not to line up ok with the metering!
I attach my settings

I've reverted to default settings and problem gone.. but the fader doesn't align to the marks next to it...
Edit: I just checked the default theme, and its the same... My bad! False alarm! Sorry!

The scale refers to meter levels not fader levels.

Janne, thanks.
This is now my default theme. Very easy on the eyes and classy.

Love this theme. It has become my new default. It's almost perfect for my needs. One suggestion for a layout though:
A master mixer layout that is mostly just a large meter and with a scale? Maybe even with a dial instead of fader for volume control to keep the meter as the focus. I never need the sends on the master visible at all the times and only use a few inserts. It would be great to use that spare screen space for a big meter to monitor levels more accurately.

Hi, I´m tweaking this theme to my own taste and I´d like to change the color for the Main Window Transport/Background but the area below the tracks in the TCP don´t change it´s color, the same with the empty track list area in the mixer.
Which files should I dissable in the RaeaperThemeZip file in order to be able to change these colors with the theme editor?
Thanks.
Ed.

Your themes are great. I've had a few DAWs on my system the last few weeks trialing them because I'm sick of the bugs and deficiencies of Logic Pro X. Everything has been binned except Reaper as an alternative. I think I'll be using it. Your themes are closer to the simple elegance of the Logic and Bitwig themes.
One thing I was wondering. What is the clash problem which made you lighten the Piano Roll window background? I couldn't really find that.
I think a slightly lighter background for the tracks is better. Say close to the sharp background lanes in the piano roll. It's not too light and not too dark. The more the same colours used the better in my opinion. It makes everything look more integrated. Also maybe a darker ruler background in the piano roll similar to the ruler in the arrange window. I also tried changing the MIDI editor list to blend that in more as well.
Great job though. Some of the Reaper themes are way too over the top.

In Preferences/Theme Editor you have separate options for:
Empty mixer area and Empty track area.

Not possible to eliminate only sends and leave only inserts. Extmixer area is populated automatically.
Also there is no dial option directl in mixer or tcp. You have to open volume properties to type ina volume vlue.

Theme editor unfortunatelly uses the same colors for all floating window background and Midi editor, so its a bit tricky and a matter of compromise to get everything look usable.

I think I see the problem with darker piano roll window background. You can lighten window text to compromise but in a few places this doesn't work too well. Is this the problem? Maybe some compromise can still be created while still keeping the window background dark.

Thank you so much Janne83, this theme is awesome (i'm using the bright version)!!!
Just a small request if it's possible... I would like to have a Volume FADER on my tracks in the arengement view instead on a volume KNOB and also if you could make the automation fader horizontally instead of vertically.
Thank you so much again for sharing with us ;-)

There is a volume fader for the track panel. Go to Options/Layouts and choose the fder layout for the track panel.

Just a few theme editor color corrections and border corrections on some of the graphic elements.

Have you ever considered "inverting" your color choices (using the icon and dial colors for the bulk of the UI and the darker choices for the icons/etc? If you did, this would blend pretty cleanly with the Mac GUI.

How to install this theme?
Hi,
What is the right way of installing and switching to this theme? I get a garble of colours, not the beautiful stuff I see in the screenshots in this thread. I copied the theme to my Reaper resources folder. Then loaded the theme from Options, Preferences, Theme Editor.
Thanks!

Just drop the downloaded themefile dirctly onto the Reaper window.
Or if you already copied it to the resources folder go to options/themes and select this theme from the list.
No need to go to the theme editor.

There are countles combinations of colors and Ive chose the current one as them most usable one for the theme at hand.

Lovely theme, thank you.
One thing I noticed - the Wide MCP tracks don't appear to be vertically resizable.. Or am I doing something wrong?
thank you!

Its fixed size. Its meant to be used with undocked mixer.

Thanks for your reply.
I always use the mixer undocked, on my second monitor. I was suprised to find the wide channel unresizable because the regular version is resizable.
I use wide channels to differentiate between folder/bus tracks and regular tracks. I would love to be able to resize the wide layout vertically, to match the height of the the regular/narrow channels, otherwise too much space is wasted on inserts/sends.
Cheers,
Sk

Man I love this theme!! The only weirdness is that I can't see the horizontal grid lines in ReaTune! Other than that it's a real pleasure looking at this theme everyday!;-)

Any chance you could please make the wide mixer channels vertically resizable so they can match the heights of the regular and narrow channels?
That would make this theme pretty much perfect!
Many thanks,

My guess would be 'no'. That is the way that layout is designed, it would not be the same if it was resizeable.
just my $0.02

Seems a bit weird though, right, if some layouts are resizable and others are not?

Love this theme, its nice and clear, but one thing: is it possible to make a track layout where i see the record button when the tracks are collapsed? (Something like a midi only track layout) i tried to do it by myself but i can´t get my head wrapped around the walter thingy
but anyway thanks for this great theme!!

great theme, it will probably replace your Universe v2.
but from V2 I really liked the Item volume knob, the circle with the small line which turns red if you move it... it was much more clear.

So any chance of please having the wide mixer channels vertically resizable, for consistency?
