Default RS5000 sustain question

when you bring the decay value to zero in a ADSR envelope,
the sustain + Release value govern the sample playback over time. [it only plays as long as the key is held and then the time set for it to play back once the key is released.]
While trying out Reasamplomatic, I observed that when you bring the decay and release time to zero and press a key , the full sample is played over time instead of stopping the sample playback immediately the key is released. The sustain actually works more like the HOLD of an ADHSR instead sustain itself.
Can someone guide me how to let a sample play exactly for the time the key is pressed down ?

cheers
zook
