Default Using #CC64 for Automation doesn't work

Hi there,
I wanted to assign my sustain pedal (MIDI CC64) to an automation curve of a VST plugin. When I open the MIDI-Learn panel of this certain curve and press the pedal - nothing happens. I double checked the CC64 input via ReaControlMIDI -> Control Change Enable -> Hold Pedal (CC64)
There the signal changes, when I press the pedal. It also works well on any VST instrument but not for automation.
[EDIT: Midi input has been configured thoroughly for this device ]

Do you have any idea how to make this work?

Thanks in advance!

Hello woelf and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information. Make sure that you:
-----------------------------------------------
Using CC#64 is OK here.

Double-check that your MIDI device is enabled for Input AND for Control.

Can you MIDI Learn any other knobs/ faders to a VST(i) parameter?

Or, you could try using "MIDI Link" to establish a direct link from the pedal to the VST(i) parameter. No Automation Envelope is used, just press the pedal or add CC#64 events to your MIDI clips.

Now it seemed so obvious Works perfectly fine with enabling input for MIDI control! Thanks so much!

As additional information to anyone who might want to use the pedal as well:

If you want your pedal to trigger what ever function you need, only as long as you press it:

- set the Track's Envelope Automation mode to 'Latch' and
- cc-Mode in the MIDI learn menue to 'Absolute'

Now the automation is triggered only as long as you press the pedal.
