I give you... Little Imperial (infancy yet)
Disclaimer: I mainly got into this because I wanted a small flavour of Imperial on my 1366x768.
UPDATED 20/4/2013
*Mixer is finished (see below)
*Final Layouts
*Improved automation
*Improved i/o
*Global cleanup
*New BIG METER layout (see below)
*Master MCP done!
*Corrected some images
*New I/O buttons
*Corrected alignment in layouts
*Small corrections
*Started working on the TCP and master MCP
*Corrected some shifting and stretching (THANK YOU witti!!! )
So, I just thought I show a bit what my crappy WALTER skills (read copy paste) have managed to create so far (again, read copy paste )
Mixer
More Mixer Layouts
Master
Full on mixer buttons
Full on mixer automation
I welcome your critics, suggestions and yes, help on making this something worthy. Or else, I'll have to change the name.
Credits so far, go to White Tie, Lambda, Albertxxx and Witti (thank you for the sends color). Am I missing someone? Let me know!
P.S. To White Tie and all the other themers I'm borrowing from, if you deem there's a problem me using this name "Little Imperial" (WT only) or any piece from your themes let me know. Thanks
P.S. 2 I don't have much time but I'll try to complete it asap if anyone's interested. Else, I'll do it in my own time.
Thank you all

Ha, that's cool. I literally just started doing the same thing these past few days (not so much a "Little Imperial" as a "Prettier Dead Ringer"). My first dive into WALTER as well. Mostly copy paste and - 'remove this: what did that do, add this: what did that do... maybe I should read the manual... oh that's what that does!'

Ok, this themeing thing is hightly addictive... I mean HIGHLY!
Still wrapping my brains around some stuff but here's some progress before bed.
Made it into a layout so if you guys like folders (I'm starting to) it's quite the contrast.
or all of it Little Imperialized...
Off to bed. I'll keep in touch

Hi guys thanks for dropping by.
Mixer is almost finished and I'll be trying to cook some layouts per Airon's suggestion on another thread. Have to look it up though lol
The TCP I haven't gone there yet but as this is a copy paste with just a bit of work from me, I'll probably have it done soon. I'm down with the flu so not much to do but lay in bed but soon enough I'll get back to it.
Hope you like the new screenshots in post #1
Thanks

Vidalsh sorry, no resizable mcp. Can't really hack it that far. Perhaps in the future...

Alright hit a wall right now in my Walter skills
It's probably any of you expert themers will do in your sleep, but after reading up on the manual and all, I still can't cut it.
It's time to yell HELP!!!
See these pictures
It's the same thing but when I reach a few tracks in the mixer and the scroll bar comes into play some of the elements get shifted
I've tried to correct it but just can't seem to find what's wrong... Anyone would like to lend a hand?

Looks like wrong edge attachments.
Every element in your screenshot that is shifted up
should be attached to the top
and everything that is shifted down should be attached to the bottom.
Maybe the fader area has some wrong pink lines, too. I see some stretching there.
The pink line in the bottom right edge of the mcp_bg should cover the whole fader area (+plus name label?).
Little tip: It is always good to walter the mcp with the scrollbar visible.
Gives you the absolute min height of the mcp.
When i create a new mcp layout, i always start with a mcp_min_height smaller than usual, to see how things behave when changing the mcp height.
Good for troubleshooting. Later i set it back to my desired value.

hi wizedo! Nothing genius I'm afraid I just draw the colors in the images inside the theme folder and then shifted the text margin. Told you, nothing genius
Thank you all.

Couple of questions guys...
1. How to rezise images for the forum?
2. WALTER: can I have separate envelope .png for the master? How?
Thanks, hope you're liking the theme.

Good job!
Imo, this is a long overdue theme!! You're doing a great job!! I can't judge by the pics, but is everything the same size as the default v4 theme? That would be amazing for me, but even a little bigger is ok. I use a netbook.

Well it's living up to its name then
Or I can call it Very Little Imperial
Nah, seriously, the "framework" is all Dusty by Lambda, which is still my closest to heart. But I wanted that Imperial feel as well so...
I just made some changes to colors, some elements here and there. I'm actually quite pleased it all held together pretty nicely.
But you're right, I should credit Lambda he deserves it. I might be leaning towards something like "Dusty Imperial"
Jokes aside, thanks for letting me borrow stuff from Imperial.
Any advice as to the theme? Anything you'd change, do differently?

Very interesting concept. Roomy, rather clear, well grouped and some choices that I'll need to test before I can say how well it works for me.
Pan backgrounds are too small to prevent the obscuring of the pan control on light MCPs.

Thanks airon. See first post if you will and see if you find it better overall.
Pan backgrounds? The dark part or the slider itself? I didn't catch what you mean there, sorry.

good job, I especially like the dark narrow mcp option and the big-and-bright automation mode (Airon approves? woohoo!)
Only thing I'd personally change are the arbitrary lines on the fader throws and the lack of any reference on the meters. I prefer something like a sharp colour change at a certain db like -18 and -3, if there are to be no labels at all. I would love to see the tcp and arrange window. I know they aren't as shmexy to look at or develop for, but just curious...
Keep it up Mr. Tree, you are doing just fine

UPDATED 20/4/2013
Thanks Tomm
Updated screenshots coming in a few seconds...
As to your observations:
* Having read quite a few of Airon's posts I tried (since I'm sharing the theme once it's done ) to cater for the automation side of things
*That narrow layout is enherited from "Dusty" by Lambda. Great theme BTW. I just did some mods there. But I like that theme so much, I felt it looked very good on my mod as well so I left it there.
*Those lines at the fader are not arbitrary. They're at -3, 0, +3, +6 db. I just didn't draw more because I felt it cluttered the space.
*In the meter sections color transitions are at -22 and -6 db.
*TCP is in it's early stages yet. Been having little time to move forward, but at least the Mixer is done. Check out the new layouts. Hope you like it.
Finally, thanks for you input. Really appreciate it.
As soon as I have something on the TCP I'll post it, though don't get your hopes high as I use it very little so it won't have as many layouts as the mixer.
That can change, 'cos though this is hard work and I certainly now appreciate even more the work of those releasing original themes (mind you I did a few mods but the bread and butter are Lambda's and WT's mainly), I'm having fun with WALTER. We'll see...
