V5 and mp4: "Could not import 1 of 1 items!"
Hi,
this is the message I get whenever I try to import (or open an existing rpp file containing) a mp4 file.
I do not know what might be usefull further information for you.
-
And now V4 (still on the sam system installed / V5 not in portable mode) behaves strange: after loading a mp4 audio starts immediately though I haven't hit play, half a second later it starts the second time providng a nice delay :-) . Video window works.

V5? V4!
Seems not to be an isolated V5 issue but a reaper plus something unknown issue. I do have the problems persisting when deinstalling V5.
This is on my laptop, with my destkop it's running (same version of VLC installed)
No ideas?

IIRC there are 2 different flavors of .MP4 and REAPER can only import one of them. I may be wrong. Re the auto-playing file it could be helpful if you describe how exactly you're importing that.

Hi Ollie,
the problem occurs in every situation: opening an existing rpp file with embedded video, dragging a mp4 to new and empty workspace.
The same files work fine with my second computer. That has not been earlier but I don't know what might have caused the changing.
And it is definitely not depending to V5 (I have played back a systemimage, so my Title is wrong.

I was getting the "Could not import 1 of 1 items" error for some of my mp4 files in v4 and v5. Also in v5 all of my video files that I would import (avi, mp4), would come in with no audio.
What fixed both of these for me was to install the latest VLC 64 bit version. Once I did that everything started working as expected.

I thought about that and had a look and found version 2.2.1 on my system installed. But I can't find a 64 bit version for download.
vlc-2.2.1-win32.exe
ist the one I find on the videolan site.

Good morning,
thank you for the link. It is a bit hidden comming from the VLC startpage.
But, sorrily, no changings here :-( .
And, why I don't have problems with my desktop with nearly the same configuration (system, data ... ).

Wish I had something more helpful but it was a mystery to me as well, fortunately the VLC reinstall fixed it for me. Not sure if helps but when I uninstalled the old version I checked the checkbox to delete preferences etc..., verified after uninstalling that the files were actually removed, then did the new install, basically just wanted to get as clean of an install as possible.
