Default Mic Choices...

So, I've been going through the studio and selling tons of crap I'm never gonna use anymore, and I need advice on how to spend the cash I'm getting for it. All totaled, it should be in the $400 range.

I'd like to get a good vocal mic with it. I have it narrowed down to a few choices and would love the community's input on them. If anyone has any other suggestions in the same-ish price range, I'm open to that, too.

My choices:
1. Send an old MXL990 off to Michael Joly to get his K47 Mod

2. Cascade Elroy

3. Cascade Fat Head II w/Lundahl transformer

4. Cascade Fat Head I Stereo Pair (I know I only need one mic for singing, but I could use these for acoustic stuff, also)

I think a multi pattern mic like Cad 179 or akg 414 are first to buy, then a good cardiod. Then you can do mid side micing too.

I probably should have mentioned that the Elroy is a Multi-pattern Tube Mic, and the Fat Heads are Figure 8's (Since they're both Ribbon mics).

What's your sound ideal? There's a huge difference between a "dark & thick" mic like the FetHead/Lundahl and a "crisp" K47-capsule mic.
