Neat additions!

We need a color for MIDI item boundaries!

Right-clicking the piano keys still doesn't select the whole note row across multiple items in the track (hopefully coming soon - as this would count towards "transpose suppot for multiple items").

PLEASE move the hover mouse info in the BOTTOM line next to Channel and Color dropdowns! (Is this so hard?)

The mutes and solos in the midi track list don't seem to indicate correctly. Also, what's up with snap? Notes seem to snap the way I expect, but if you try to extend the media items in the midi navigator the media items don't snap properly (or at least not the way I expect them to).

(previously reported nitpick)

Add FX dialog-->"Show default FX presets"

Toggling this on or off, resets the background color for the FX browser's right panel to white. Try it with a background color other than the default.

Haven't checked the new stuff yet, they sound good. I was hoping the quantize function was also available from the arrange view (for MIDI events in one or multiple items).

Works fine. But clicking on a single solo/mute-button does not update the gui (it works, but you don't see the button changing its on/off-state).

Several bugs:
  • Transposing only works with mouse, shortcuts/actions don't work at all
  • Moving notes (left/right) and note length editing is not possible with mouse
  • Moving notes (left/right) works using shortcuts/actions, but it does not work across multiple items
  • Moving notes (left/right) on a swing grid does not work (swing grid is ignored)
  • Clicking on an item in the media item lane reaper sometimes makes a full zoom on that item and screws up zoom level of the entire media item lane. Very strange behaviour! Still no recipe to 100% reproduce, though. Just play around with large and small items at different zoom levels ...
  • On the cc list, several CCs (like cc11) don't have the dot indicating midi data anymore

I really miss the ability to set the edit focus per track from the track list. ATM, I have to collapse the track I want to focus on and guess from the item list which item is either near the edit cursor or my current edit view ... that't not a good workflow. It should be possible to set the edit focus without collapsing the track list. It should also be possible to "focus" on all items of one single track.

The midi editor loads reabanks per item. It should load reabanks per track. Also, if you copy and paste a midi item on the same track, the midi editor forgets the associated reabank, too.

I just found out that midi editor focus and view selection follows the item selection in the TCP. Very good, I really like that.

Shift+Left-click selecting multiple items/tracks in track list does not work when only one track/item is selected.
There is also some other weird behaviour when using shift selecting. It is quite difficult to predict which items/tracks will be selected.

Are you planning to change the editability to be a separate state and add a separate swipeable editability control column to the track list? I still think the current method where editability is linked to selected state is confusing.

Yes.
+ option for muted midi items in arrange view to be totally hided from the whole midi track/media selector/editor.
+ a color mode selection (multiply/add/etc) for midi notes: muted/in background/etc, like the one for media items in arrange view.
+ for the good of the previous request : colors constancy between media item/track/notes.
+ CC bezier curves.

Thanks for the midi love.

This should work (since pre1). Remember that only MIDI notes within selected (not just visible) media items can be edited.

One item was too small, it's note had the same length as the item so reaper blocked the entire process O:-) Maybe auto-expanding items could save some confusion ...?

The problem with moving those boxes to the bottom line is that, if you also have the transport unsynced and a custom note length set, the editor would need to be 1200 pixels wide.

Option please, then. 1920x1080 here, MIDI editor fullscreened when I'm working with MIDI. Ideally these hover info frames should stick to lower right corner when resizing the MIDI editor (the way it behaves as it is now, in top right)!

Custom note length set doesn't seem to change anything here regarding width... should it?

THANKS for making the track list remembering its width globally!

Yes 1200 is too big for lots of screens.

The UI controls in the MIDI editor (and in general) would be a lot more compact if you used custom UI elements instead of common OS controls. You've done this in the main transport bar for example (tap tempo, global automation override). I hope you are considering this for the MIDI editor in the future. The 'color' and 'channel' controls could be at least half (or even 1/3 of) the width if they were custom controls.

In the meantime, suggestions:

1) Allow each component to be visible on/off.

2) The 'scales' control is a good candidate. Hide the 2 scales dropdowns when it's inactive.

3) Allow two rows of controls if they don't fit.

4) Split them in 'pages' if they don't fit (add arrow buttons at the end of the panel two switch)

True, but I'd still like an option to have it in the bottom...
