Default problem with plugins on 64

tried the 64 version of reaper on my new computer. everything seems to work and sound great. however most of my third party plugins are not being recognized. ive tried placing the plugin files in diffrent folders and nothing is working. i never had this problem on my old version of reaper. in fact i reinstalled the old version and it detects my plugins fine. im sure theres something im not doing right, isnt reaper 64 supposed to be able to run 32 plugins? any help would be appriciated!

What type of plugins? I don't think DX plugins will run at all in an x64 host. Somebody will chime in here if I'm wrong but I know the DX plugs I have do not work in x64. For that reason, I have BOTH versions of Reaper installed.

You don't need to run the 64 bit build of Reaper on 64 bit Windows, the 32 bit Reaper works just fine. So you can have them installed at the same. (There are 2 different Program Files folders on 64 bit Windows etc.)
