My copy arrived today. Thanks! Can confirm now Lulu ships from the US, so Europeans will need a bit of patience, but it's worth it

Let me encourage anyone who hasn't actually sat down with the projects & fiddled to do so! I read through about 95 pages before taking the time to do this - I understood what he was saying quite well, but literally getting in there & doing the tweaks, playing with the concepts, was invaluable.
Sometimes I talk about gaining understanding by saying "light on!" - well, in this case I felt like several more lights went on after getting hands-on with the concepts.
Bravo for the work well done, man! The book is excellent, but having access to the projects as well makes this an incredible value!

I can't agree more that this is a well-done and needed book. I'm not new to mixing and while I know a lot of this, there's still some ideas presented that make me think, "why didn't I think of that?!?"

I've spent a few hours both reading and trying out the examples, and would be far too embarassed to admit to some of the things that I didn't know but have now "clicked." Lots of "aha" moments.
I think this book is going to do more for my mixing skills than anything else I've read before. Really nice that it's Reaper-specific, also.
If you're still debating whether to buy this, stop waiting and take the plunge. Highly recommended.

I got the email just this morning (about an hour ago), it just said that they had a problem filling my order and that they'd refund me. Then I went onto their "Live Chat" on their website, and they said that it had to do with the printing. They said that a print expert would look into the problem.

Ok, Thanks, thats a bummer, I hope they can get it sorted out, I would rather have the book, my order status says Fulfilling, and I haven't received an Email yet mentioning any problem, maybe mine got through, nah, I'm not that lucky.
Thanks for the info.

Sorry you guys are being inconvenienced.
I got an email from LULU today saying there was a "problem" with the book ... but not what the problem was!
Now I know it's printing, I'll create a new version and upload that. Sorry for the inconvenience, hang on there, we'll get it sorted ....

OK, I've recreated the PDf and uploaded as a new revision. It prints fine on my little Samsung Laser Jet.
Could you guys please chase up LULU and see if this fixes the problem? Cheers

Hi Nicholas,
I told them on their Live Chat that you had uploaded a new version, and they said that I should probably reorder. I think that the book is back online now

Thanks Avoca,
Yes it is up again, and sorry about the stuff-ups. Funny thing is, the version that "wouldn't print" has been up there happily printing for at least 10 days.
Ah well, all's well that ...

They print and ship from the USA. In the past, buying from LULU, I've found delivery to be anything from 2 to 6 weeks depending on heaven knows what.
I'd say that your situation is unusual but not unheard of. Probably best to get in touch with them. If you can't get it resolved, please PM me.

Hey Nick this looks great but just a question...because I couldn't see it in the posts.
Can you buy this as a "PDF" download rather than a book and then just print it out? Or is it only in book form?
I obviously can order it in book form but thought a PDF version of the entire book would be awesome too (would probably just buy both) but it would be great to order a PDF version and then get a book on order which for me (UK) could take like 3-4 weeks to come through.
So yeah if not then I will get my copy order today but if there is a pdf pay download then that would be super

I still never received an Email saying that anything was/is wrong, so I'm still clinging to the hope that I got through before it hit the fan, I'll wait a couple more days, and if my order status hasn't changed I'll make some inquiries.
[edit] Well, I couldn't wait, so I did the live chat thing, and they said my order was in printing now, so thats good I guess.

Hi
I've just been on for a LiveChat with Lulu - cool! Anyway, I explained that I had placed the order then got an email with the bit at the bottom about :
Messages:
180: Text PDF will not RIP, CID 2539885
The bloke pointed me at a couple of links about this sort of thing...
http://www.lulu.com/en/help/index.ph...ROR_TEXT_NORIP
http://www.lulu.com/uk/help/index.ph...les_dont_print
But I pointed out that it wasn't my file and that I'd been reading on here that the book had printed fine for a while, then had stopped printing without you changing anything, then you'd 'fixed' it and it worked for a bit then stopped etc...
So he said he'd open a ticket and pass it to the print support team so that they could contact the author and have the problem sorted.
So, if you hear from them, it may have been at least partly my fault
The number I was given in the chat was LTK144012236830X so that might get a mention.
Hope it all gets sorted soon!
John

I just received my copy of "ReaMix" and "Up And Running", and what can I say, I've been ripped !!
My copy of ReaMix only has 40 Pages, the shipment summary says page count - 193, I can't access the books web page to check, it's unavailable.
I've been ReaRipped !!

jinotsuh,
Don't worry, I will somehow get this sorted out for you, you won't be ripped off, I promise you'll get a copy when we get the printing issue resolved, even if I have to pay for it myself or refund you the dosh out of my own pocket.
Meanwhile, go on to LULU live chat with your order number and report this - best let them deal with it first.
The book is withdrawn only temporarily, because of printing problems.
Believe me, I'm trying to move heaven and earth to fix this.

Weirdness...placed my order...erm last week I think, I don't remember exactly. Placed an order for a second Lulu book too. Got an email this evening saying there was a problem with my order and that I would be refunded for the item that they can't ship to me. Before I could even go to Lulu and check it out, I received a message from their shipping department that both books had shipped.

If you have your order numbers at ahnd, log on to LULU live chat and tell them all this, would you?
Thanks!

Well thank you, but I would neither want nor expect that, it's not your fault, it's a thing called life, it happens. I'm not particularly concerned about it, I would however like the book , the money doesn't bother me, I would happily purchase the book again if need be, and think nothing of it.
I hope you never took my post above the wrong way, I wasn't blaming you, or suggesting that you would rip anyone off, and the ReaRipped comment was just a litte Rea****** joke.

I have done this, they gave me a ticket number, and I have to send them digital images of the cover and the last page, which I will be doing shortly.

No, your post certainly didn't come across as angry or anything like that at all, quite mild and humorous in fact.
However, even though the stuff up is not of my making I do feel a moral obligation to make sure that you get what you paid for. Please let me know how you get on with LULU - I expect they'll sort it out, but if they don't I would definitely like to compensate you.
And thanks for being so understanding ....

Well, we're getting somewhere at last. Finally found someone at LULU with a bit of initiative and common sense.
This guy thinks that there is probably actually nothing wrong with the book - but for some reason for many orders what happens is (this gets confusing):
1. The order gets accepted
2. The customer gets an email saying the order has been rejected.
3. I get an email saying there is a problem with the book and tht it is being withdrawn from stock.
4. The book gets printed.
5. The order is despatched.
Anyway, they're digging deeper, but until this horrible mess is cleared up it's still currently not available.
Apologies, we hope to be back on-line with this some time next week.

Apparently there was some problem between Paypal and lulu. I got refunded yesterday.
Now I ordered again but the Dollar seems to be a little stronger than a month ago, it cost me 3 Euros more. Hopefully this time it works

Just thought I'd mention - further to a huge amount of prompting, my original order is now in the REFUNDED state and I've reordered (FULFILLING!). Hopefully this one will go through. I'll keep you posted.

Good news John, and thanks again for all your help with getting this problem sorted.
By way of information, here is an extract from an email I got from LULU yesterday:
I have taken a look at your PDF, and I cannot find anything that would have caused this issue.
I appreciate your patience, and I do apologize for any inconvenience
