very nice clean theme...
I notice on the tcp, there is now Input FX button that 'should' appear when a trak is armed...

it does show up on the mcp... so perhaps it's intentional?

Because the Icons from this THEME are inside a folder called "Overwrite_toolbar_icons" and inside that one there is another folder with the name "toolbar_icons" and then the FILES.

So what to do? Or I guess we have to name the "toolbar_icons" that has these icon with the THeme name no?

Thanx a lot
For all those still struggling

Unpack the theme
select all the toolbar pngs
Drop them in the theme folder.

zip it up or associate the theme with the folder.

Now when you search for a toolbar from within this theme you will see only the tool these icons .

Leave the DATA file alone unless you want to overwrite the existing default icons.

I haven't tried this but I bet its going to make things complicated when exchanging toolbars as these icons share the same name as the default and I bet you see both sets of default icons

Really what would be nice is a nice neat file inside the theme folder to keep all thee icons in.

I'll make a FR some day :

Note: when in Default theme I see only default icons when in Aler ego I see only alter ego icons .
Well and the v3 icons that can't be shaken.

Bug: when changing themes the icon page doesn't refresh ....

@Jedstar!!

Thank you for confirming mate. One little question for you as I'm not a Themer and never will be.. you suggested to ZIP them? How do Themer make the file be finish with the ZIP extension without the .ZIP? In other word to look like this "Alter Ego_b7.ReaperThemeZip"? I guess there must be two ways:

Use a ZIP software or maybe another way to do this?

Sorry for asking but I honestly got no idea

Cheers!!

I think you just use winzip then edit the name .

I would just extract it.
In preferences themes point the theme at the extracted folder .
Save the theme

You make a normal zip of theme file and folder and then rename the extension to ReaperThemeZip. Mac can directly rename in inspector. On windows you can use Total Commander or similar. Or 7zip can do it directly I think

I'm really loving this theme!

I'm wondering if there's anyway to fix this?

It would be great if resizing the TCP would allow reading longer track names...

set tcp.label [x x x x 0 0 1 0]

EDIT: I'll definitely make a "compact" layout. I'll make the label expandable also. If your interested I'll post it up

Really great work!

But I certainly won't use this theme, having too many bad memories of Cubase and Steinberg-(stuff) in general.

Somehow I feel the same way. But I still consider this one as long as it is easy to read. Some of the other fancy themes around here are too much gray on gray.

I also use long track names, so it's really important for themes I use to show as much of the track name as possible. It's one of the main reasons I still use Unempty Minima 73 after all these years.

just a note for people about the toolbar icons... here is what you can do:

OK, you have a xxxxx.ReaperThemeZip file to work with... and in this case you also have some extra 'toolbar icons'... and\or you have some other icons you many want to use in toolbars...

step 1:

make a new folder to work in... copy the xxxxx.ReaperThemeZip into there and add .zip to it's name.
Now you can extract it as you would any normal zip file.
You will get a folder of png files, an a reaper theme file... [that theme file is what you get by saving from the Pref's theme editor]

step 2:

OK... now open your folder of 'toolbar icon' png's... you need to rename all of them so they begin with custom_toolbar_xxxxxx.png

On pc I use flash file renamer... totally fast to add whatever to the beginning or end of a file name... or to replace something with something else.... there are other tools that work for this also...
The only real point is that I can add, custom_toolbar_ to the front of a 1000 png's in about 2 secnonds.

step 3:

Now copy all those renamed png's into the folder of pngs that is for the actual theme.

step 4:

Now select that folder, AND the reaper theme file and make a zip file of those. It should be named with the name of the theme, so you should get:

xxxxxxx.ReaperThemeZip.zip

Now just remove that .zip from it's name and copy and paste that into your Color Themes folder.

Done... except in Pref's\theme editor... tell reaper to use that theme for it's resources...

Now all those toolbar icons will be there to use in the toolbar editor....

BTW, this is way faster to do than write about....

Fair play for going to the effort of writing the full process.
Hopefully theme's will start including the icons in the theme folder.

EDIT ..................
Latest Update has the toolbar icons packed in the theme folder

Or Better don't rename them and you'll only see the icons associated with the theme . That is why they have the same name as the default icons. The default icons look awful on a light background. Also this way you can set up a toolbar and it will automatically switch icons when switching themes.

A new version is up (near 8 its called)

I'm really enjoying this theme - not so sure about the mauve bits on the TCP with this version - I prefer the the light blue of previous betas!

Anyway sterling work

Cheers

May I ask who is the author of this theme?

I would love to incorporate the transport in the upcoming
Shoelace 4 theme that is also a cubase mod, since it fits
so nicely, but of course I need author's permission and
I would naturally credit his work in the splash image.

Any info on this welcome.

Best,

If you're so sure, why did you ask in the first place?

His user name was Lamda (no 'b'). If you search the Stash you should find several older themes by him. I haven't seen him around on the forum in awhile (but he must be lurking, at least long enough to upload a new theme).

I'm sure it's not "Lambda" - search by that nickname returned nothing.
That is why I posted here, otherwise I'd have contact him personally.

Thanks for posting his actual user name. Sorry for the offtopic.

Thanks the mixer 'docked' on the left side of the window. If you click on a certain track (like #2 in the picture), it should scroll to the proper MCP track.

Thanks for the update! This theme is my favorite by far, 2nd place still goes to the default v3 theme. The v4 default theme just isn't very inspiring to look at in my opinion.

Siko, is the new version that you posted about the one from over 2 weeks ago? I don't see anything newer than that. Beta13 from July 13th???

Right click any blank section in the Master Fader and hover over "Master Track" then select "Show in Docker",... then go to the top menus and go to OPTIONS>LAYOUTS>MASTER MIXER PANEL>INSPECTOR ... I think this is what you are looking for? Oh yeah, also right click on blank space next to docker tabs, and select "Attached Docker Position: Left"... I believe you also need to have "Attach Docker to Main Window" selected...

Hey, thanks BeatPsychic, it works!Great!

But now I have another problem:
how do I define a custom layout?
I´d like to switch between this layout and the normal mixer view.
I´ve found the walter reference and found the default_layouts.txt
in the REAPER's Plugins/ but I don´t know how to use it....

I will keep searching in the forum, but perhaps somebody has another advice for me.

Thanks,

michi333,

There will be a 'Walter' user guide, but I believe White Tie is still working on it.

What a great work ! Till now this one appears to be the best in my monitors. The only thing I found I didn't like is that it is a Cubendo theme.

The "Show in track controls" is not visible for the fx parameters.

How can I make them show in the track?
