Reaper and MuseScore
How do I setup an external editor for midi-content (MuseScore)?
I've tried adding it as primary external editor,
but when choosing action for opening midi-item I only get to Reapers midi-editor.

did you precise the file extension?
I had the same problem, with ".mid" extension.
I think the good way is "mid", without any dot.

Thanks!
Changed as you suggested, and then MuseScore it showed up in the context-menu. But using the action didn't open MuseScore..

You should open the MuseScore from View->Score view or from the item menu the last two positions are from the Muse Score

?
View > : I have no score editor option there
Item (right click) > Open items in Editor > Open items copy in musescore.exe : only opens Reapers Midi Editor

You are right, G-Sun.
4.52, WIN 7 64 here.
did not test external midi editor since I installede last version.
open midi item copy in external editor doesnt work (tried with finale, musescore and synthfont).
Always the same result: midi item opens only in internal midi editor.
I imagine it's a bug.

Could someone post the path for this please? I didn’t know that it was possible to open Musescore within Reaper.
Thanks.

And btw: I'd love to see some tighter integration wit Reaper and Musescore. Maybe something ala ARA or ReWire or something.
It seems like the devs are not into making an integrated score editor (and that's not a bad choice),
but then it seems like a good way to go to look at a closer integration with MuseScore.

thanks for your bug report.
I'm not convinced my english would be clear enough to give the devs precise informations.
My reaper version is 4.52, but 64 bits.

There is a version of MuseScore coded exclusively as an extension for REAPER, i think its called ReScore if i remember correctly.
Check the stash ... it should be there.
Alas, its only 32 bit but seemed to work pretty stable, despite some limitations. It wont work in x64 Reaper.
I'm not sure if the regular version of MuseScore will work as an external editor. I think MuseScore isn't able to update Reaper correctly.
