Default CURSORS - on the stash now

https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1959/DE...UR%20FILES.zip

in the zip file are all the cur files that are currently coded as the default cursors for Reaper...

You might find these useful as reference and\or starting points to customize your own...

The WT guide for this is here:

http://www.cockos.com/reaper/sdk/cur...s.php#location

here is the included read me about what is on the stash:
Quote:
Cursors Read Me:

These are the cursor files that are currently hard coded into reaper.

They have been named to match the list as showin here:

http://www.cockos.com/reaper/sdk/cur...s.php#location

In these files there are more .cur files than are shown on that web page.

The web page needs some updating since it shows cursors up to #43
...however there actually are an additonal 5 more .cur files inside reaper.

I hope someone can supply the real names and functions for those.

They are named here 44,45,46,47,48

Also included is a 'test pattern' cursor... file name is:

99-test pattern.cur

The 'hot spot' for that cur is in the top left corner of the centermost four pixels.

This test pattern can be used by giving it the name of a custom cursor and
seeing how it shows up and where the hot spot is... from seeing that it can
be determined where the actual hot spot of a given custom cursor is wanted
to be.

You might want to try a Google search for online and offline programs that
can be used to create and edit .cur files.

Personally, I like this one:

Hello, hopi, thank you for these, they will be quite useful. I'm wondering if you're aware of any cursor names that have been added as themable since the page regarding cursor theming was last updated?

I'm slowly but surely working on a complete new set of cursors for Reaper, I set out just to make some new envelope editing cursors and fell down the rabbit hole, I'm wondering if there's a way to theme the cursor when (for example) you use ctrl-alt-drag an item in the arrange to create a rendered (rather than just a copy of the original) version; notation view cursors besides the clef, other cursor theming possibilities related to newer features?

thanks again!

hi ya yeah sorry but I don't ... and I've asked the same question

I have a set of custom cursors that work up to a point and then something... I mean some name for the cursor file does not do as expected...

I tried making a big obvious cursor, one that you can't visually miss but that is just a 'place holder'... I put it into the cursor folder and give it a temp. name for one of the listed cursors [just rename the real one to name.OFF] and tried to have it show me when that name is used and where...

but I gave up after awhile cuz where some of them, especially in the midi ed. get used just did not make sense.

If you make some progress please do show and tell!

Hi again, Hopi, thanks for the info.

I'm only now getting into the MIDI-specific cursors and am noticing what you mention, some cursors in weird places. This has probably been left because you don't see it with the default cursors. Now that I'm testing MIDI editor cursors I'll try to make note of oddities and let them know in a bug report.

Anyway I'm nearly finished a complete set, they're meant to go with a theme I'm working on but are generic enough to go with most themes. I'll post them in the stash along with variations and extras I've made in a week or so. The theme they go with will be a lot longer coming, still new to WALTER.
