Just wondering... or if anyone's made an extension that can do this... multi track recording aswell, for the purpose of doing multi instrument covers...

Video recording - you need a video camera for that; but you can certainly import video.
Multi track recording -- yes, people use this all the time. Route however many audio signals you want into your computer and record it all at once with Reaper.

This would be more useful than first imagined, and I've requested it alot.
The difficulty to implement is negligible ( a tiny utility can capture, so it is odd that reaper can decode, filter, edit, encode, but not capture!),
it would be useful because you'd have audio and video synced immediately on timeline to any other audio you have recorded.
Many uses.
I've just spent many hours shuttling back and forth between Vegas and Reaper and still have many sync problems. I had great difficulty trying to glue a number of mp3s I was practicing with. I find that process complex. It would have been so great to just drop a number of songs on a track and then have my various mics etc in tracks below so I could go back and change volumes etc later. C'mon software writers who develop Reaper this would be such a help for musicians. At least one track capturing the video and then as many audio tracks as your sound card allows. Please consider this! If there another affordable software program that does this I'd appreciate knowing what it is. Thanks
Here’s my take on this problem: I built a bridge between REAPER and OBS so that you can start/stop recording in both in sync. The resulting video just shows up in the REAPER timeline, ready to edit.
I want to have one too but couldn't find it. Now I am using another screen recorder called Joyoshare VidiKit as an alternative. It is able to record videos in 1080p with no watermark, which is important for me. But I would appreciate it if anyone can show me how to find the reaper recorder.
