Default How to set fade on multiple items selected ?

Hi ,
I don't know what am I doing wrong here.
If I select 5 items on the same track and decide to fade them out,
the fade is only applied to the item i am dragging the fade handle to.

At least on my setup..., when selected items are parallel and end at the same place then simply dragging one of the items fader effects all items. Otherwise I need to also hold down Control+Alt keys.

This works on multiple selected items on the same track (or different tracks for that matter)

Not really a "hack." It's an option. There are many different options in Reaper. I think the idea is to allow the user to create their own workflow and not restrict them to a certain way to work.
